ボーナス・トラック入りのＣＤが、いつまでたっても再発されないアルバムの１枚が、今回ご紹介する「Lee Konitz Plays With The Gerry Mulligan Quartet – Konitz Meets Mulligan (Pacific Jazz WP-1273)」です。
1988年にセッション録音順に並べられたＣＤが発売されましたが、それ以降、アナログ・レコードでは何度も再発されるものの、ボーナス・トラック入りリマスターＣＤは、中々再発されないというのは、何とも不思議な感じがします。
クール・ジャズの代表的アルトサックス奏者リー・コニッツ（Lee Konitz）が、ジェリー・マリガン（Gerry Mulligan）カルテットに客演した録音から編纂されたアルバムですが。
収録される内容がいずれも素晴らしく、なるべく良い音で聴きたいのですが、中々ＣＤ再発されず・・・。
そんな訳で、（手間かかりますが）自家リマスターの上、アナログ・レコードに準拠した曲順に直したものを聴いていたりします。
３管となったアンサンブルの素晴らしさは、１曲目「I Can't Believe That You're In Love With Me」を聴いていただけると、ご納得いただけるかと。
アナログレコードのB面に相当する８曲目「I'll Remember April」は、1953年01月23日「The Haig」におけるライブ録音ですが、これまた文句のつけようのない素晴らしい演奏です。
アナログレコード用に、リマスターデータを作成していると思われるので、是非とも「Lee Konitz Plays With The Gerry Mulligan Quartet – Konitz Meets Mulligan (Pacific Jazz WP-1273)」を、ＣＤで再発してもらいたいものです。
